The Dead Daisies @ The Roxy - 09/16/2018The Dead Daisies played the famous Roxy Theater on Sunday September 16, 2018 marking the final show of the US/Canada Summer 2018 Daisyland tour in support of their latest release “Burn It Down.”

The band reached West Hollywood California after touching down in Europe and Japan starting back in early April 2018 starting in Glasgow, Scotland. Upon landing in the U.S on the final trek of their world Daisyland tour they squeezed in acoustic sets in Guitar Centers starting in Cleveland, OH and ending in Glendora, CA while also treating the fans to an additional acoustic show at Bartels Harley Davidson in Marina Del Rey as a bonus. The Dead Daisies might currently be the hardest working group of musicians playing 53 shows in 33 days on their US/Canada tour.

The band is high intensity with great showmanship and lots of rock and roll tenure evident with the group of musicians having previously played in rock and roll supergroups Motley Crue, Whitesnake, The Scream, Union, Ted Nugent, Journey and numerous other notables projects.

The set list is peppered with covers from Creedence Clearwater Revival to The Beatles. All perfectly transformed into Daisy rock and roll, probably the most favorited being “Midnight Moses” by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Lots of singing and pick throwing at its finest in the smoke filled dark, hot, sweaty room that is The Roxy. All band members are out in front in this hard rock band, with Doug Aldrich and his powerful leads and signature exposed chest,  David Lowy monitor jumping on supporting guitar, Marco Mendoza giving the audience his all on bass and quite possible sweating off at least 10 pounds all the while John Corabi breaking the Hollywood audience stereotype with lots of participation as only John Corabi can do. The newbie to this lineup on drums is Deen Castronova keeping time and supporting vocals.

The end of the show included Dizzy Reed, whose band Hookers and Blow was support on the US tour, who guested on keyboards on the final song of the night “Helter Skelter.” The Dead Daisies is a great American band with diverse fans from all over the globe (with fans from Michigan, Canada and Japan in attendance on this night) truly proving music is the universal language.

Do your ears a favor and go out and buy all the The Dead Daisies music and be sure to follow them on social media. Next up for the Dead Daisies is the 2018 KISS Kruise this fall.
