Festival Supreme @ Shrine Auditorium – 10/25/2014
Tenacious D held their 2nd Annual Festival Supreme on Saturday October 25th at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles. This one day comedy and music festival featured a wide array of musical acts, comedians, and lots of mixes in between. Headliners included organizers Tenacious D, comedy legends Cheech and Chong, animated metal band Dethklok, and a reunion of the MTV sketch show The State. Other musical acts included Peaches, Eagles of Death Metal, Heidecker & Wood, The Dan Band, The Aquabats, and the Protomen. Standup comedians featured included Margaret Cho, Fred Armisen, Nick Kroll, Norm MacDonald, T.J. Miller, Doug Benson, Natasha Leggero, Bo Burnham and Eric Andre.
The festival also featured an indoor “Circus of Death” with experimental visual art displays, a live music stage, and an evil train ride through the floor of the Shrine Hall. The entire atmosphere throughout the day was fun and somewhat spooky with many guests sporting their finest Halloween attire. Special made fez hats promoting the festival dotted the large crowds in front of each stage. The LA audience seemed to love all the various spaces and areas to experience things at the show. Jack Black and Kyle Gass truly put on an amazing concert and organized a very unique festival. This diverse lineup of hilarious people was a great journey into the weird, wacky, and wonderful space where comedy and music collide.
