LIGHTS @ The Observatory North Park – 02/07/2018
Alt-Pop artist LIGHTS brought her We Were Here Tour to The Observatory North Park in San Diego on Wednesday February 7th. The singer/songwriter/artist is out on the road in the US and Canada supporting her latest release and 4th studio album Skin & Earth. This album is unique in that it ties her music with a story, comic book, and other multimedia that she has also written and illustrated.
LIGHTS show in San Diego was an enjoyable affair with a small but skilled backing band joining the artist on stage. She played selections from throughout her discography and added an acoustic section to the concert that showed off an impressive vocal range. In addition there were interludes and visualizations from the comic story shown on a giant LED screen to tie songs and themes together. Highlights of the set included “Skydiving” and the encore song “Giants” from the Skin and Earth album.
