Orange County native’s No Doubt return home on Friday for the first of 4 shows at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine. The band temporarily parted ways during 2003 when lead vocalist Gwen Stefani pursued a solo career. In 2008 the band began working on a new album, which is set to release in 2010.

Having not toured together in over five years the quartet kicked off a full-fledged tour playing all their hits while finishing their new release.

Last night the band performed the middle show of three dates at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, with the last show in Los Angeles taking place tonight.

The energy and excitement in the venue was electric during opening acts The Sounds and Paramore, but nothing topped the feeling as the lights faded to black announcing the arrival of No Doubt. A large white sheet fell from the rafters covering the stage, as black silhouettes of the band walking out and preparing to play was being projected onto the sheet. As the sheet dropped revealing the band, not only the fans but the band was excited and ready to rock.

No Doubt hasn’t missed a beat during their 5 year hiatus. Less than a year after giving birth to her second child Stefani appeared as slim and fit as a world class athlete. While bassist Tony Kanal, Drummer Adrian Young and Guitarist Tom Dumont are also performing at the top of their game.

Tickets for the first thee shows at Irvine are Sold Out, however there are still tickets available for the last show on Aug. 4 atÂÂ
