Shinedown @ House of Blue Anaheim – 04/17/2017
On Monday night April 17, Shinedown along with tour openers As Lions ended their brief West Coast tour at the brand new House of Blues in Anaheim. Shinedown put on a high energy fast paced show that showcased each band members talents that had vocalist Brent Smith commanding center stage as he belted out his lyrics while guitarist Zach Myers, with his enthusiastic stage presence, nailed his guitar parts. The rhythm section of Eric Bass on bass (coincidental last name . . . ) and the awesome Barry Kerch tying it all together on drums. The band opened the night with “Devour” and played a nice mixture of music from their entire catalog of music.
Of course one of the highlights of the night was the epic cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” that had all in attendance singing along. The night ended with “Sound of Madness” as the band thanked the crowd and ended the night and this leg of their tour.
London rockers As Lions fronted by Austin Dickinson (son of Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson) are out supporting their recent release Selfish Age and did an excellent job filling the opening slot before Shinedown.
Shinedown is now in Europe opening for Iron Maiden’s 2017 Book of Souls World Tour. For everything Shinedown be sure to checkout www.shinedown.com.
