Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators @ The Palladium –No rest for the wicked . . . hot off touring with the re-united Guns n Roses, guitar God Slash hit the road with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators in mid-September for the month long Living the Dream tour in support of the September 21 release of the same name. On Tuesday night October 16 Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators played the last show of this tour at the Hollywood Palladium to a sold-out crowd.

In addition to a home town show for Slash, this night was made even more special due to his son London Hudson’s band Classless Act opening the show. After making their live debut back in May at the annual Ride for Ronnie James Dio, Classless Act has been buzzing in the music world. The band founded by drummer London Hudson with childhood friend Nico Tsangaris (guitar) along with vocalist Derek Day (vocals), Dane Pieper (guitar) and Franco Gravante (bass) delivered a high energy set of driving rock anthems.

This band definitely has a future as Day is a great vocalist with an even more impressive stage presence and the hard-hitting drum attack of London Hudson is impressive for a 15-year-old. A fantastic opener for this show and Slash was surely a proud father on this night.

Living the Dream is the third album in Slash’s discography with Myles Kennedy and the band now has a song catalog of their own to focus on minimizing Guns n Roses and Velvet Revolver songs. Slash is the ultimate rock star and the setlist is filled with straight up raunchy rock n roll. His band mate Myles Kennedy is a fantastic vocalist and delivers an amazing performance regardless if he is singing originals or covers. The Conspirators are made up of Brent Fitz on drums, Todd Kerns on bass and occasional lead vocals and guitarist Frank Sidoris.

In addition to the overall performance of the band, the highlight of any show with Slash is his guitar playing and that was a focus in each song but his 20-minute solo during Guns n Roses “Rocket Queen” was off the hook. Yes 20 minutes is a bit excessive but WOW, what an amazing feat to see and hear!

Guns n Roses bassist Duff McKagan made a special appearance during the band’s encore joining in on a killer rendition of the GnR classic “It’s So Easy”. Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators is keeping authentic rock n roll alive and hopefully will return in 2019 for another US tour. Until then go out and grab a copy of Living the Dream for a rock n roll good time.
