Snoop Dogg @ House of Blues Anaheim - 12/28/2017As soon as you pulled into the parking garage at GardenWalk in Anaheim you could smell the aroma of marijuana in the air which could only mean one thing . . . Snoop Dogg was in the house as he and his entourage made a stop at House of Blues on Thursday night December 28. The cannabis advocate and seasoned rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, television personality, and actor played his second to last show of his December mini-tour at the new House of Blues venue to a SOLD OUT audience.

After two DJ sets that had the crowd dancing and fist pumping, Snoop Dogg with his backing band and dancers took the stage and took the very enthusiastic fans through a journey of Snoop Dogg hits and collaborations. Wearing dark shades and a Los Angeles Rams jersey, Snoop delivered his smooth, layed back, melodic songs with heavy emphasis on partying, women, sex and of course smoking weed.

In addition to his own songs, Snoop covered hits by Dr. Dre, Tupac, Eazy-E and House of Pain. Some of the highlights (emphasis on high . . . ) included dancers on four stripper poles onstage and in front of the stage, the hits “Drop it Like its Hot” and “Gin and Juice” and of course the constant cloud of smoke from the combined onstage use by Snoop himself as well as that from the crowd.

Snoop crammed over 20 songs into just over an hour set but you definitely felt fulfilled by sets end as the show was non-stop and never had a dull moment. Some 25+ years into his career, Snoop Dogg proves he is still a master lyricist who puts any modern day rapper to shame.
