Steel Panther @ The Fonda Theater – 05/04 & 11/2016
After a short break from a busy tour, Steel Panther is back to their roots in Hollywood, playing select dates at The Fonda Theater throughout May. The fans packed the Fonda Theater the first two Wednesdays of the month for sold out shows on both nights. As usual, a lot of fans who have been there from the beginning, lined up, waiting to see their favorite Heavy Metal band.
The guys in the band are very humble and certainly have not forgot where they came from and where it all started. The band talks to as my fans as they can before and after the shows, remembering who every single one of them are.
It’s not just the fans though, there are famous musician fans who come out the the shows as well. You never know who is gonna show up at a Steel Panther show and make a guest appearance. The past few shows at The Fonda have been no exception as Dug Pinnick of Kings X, Joe Lester of The Atomic Punks and Steven Chesney where in attendance and performed.
Dug Pinnick sang a kick ass version of Purple Haze, while Joe Lester pounded out some amazing bass playing on the song. Also making an appearance and singing Sweet Child O Mine with the band, was actor Jeremy Renner . . . And yes he really can sing too. Steel Panther had a few other west coast shows mixed in with these dates at The Fonda as they played a sold out Friday the 13th show at House of Blues San Diego and a Scottsdale, Az show on Saturday the 14th.
The boys return for one final night at the Fonda on May 18th, before heading out to do few shows in the mid-west, then on to Rock On The Range and Rocklahoma. After Rocklahoma, the band has about a two week break before taking off for a 3 month tour of Europe.
