Stryper @ House of Blues Anaheim – 09/12/2015Orange County natives Stryper played a one off show at House of Blues Anaheim Saturday night September 12 in anticipation of their new album Fallen which is set to be released on October 16th.

Dedicated Stryper Fans traveled from as far as Arizona to see the Christian glam rockers play this show. One of the few bands with its original lineup still in place, Stryper is still going strong after 30 plus years and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The band powered through a 90 minute set of hits from The Yellow and Black Attack thru its current release No More Hell To Pay. In addition to their original hits, Stryper played a few songs of their 2011 covers album The Covering that included “Carry on Wayward Son” by Kansas and Kiss’ “Shout it Out Loud”.

With Robert Sweet aka “The Visual Timekeeper” and Tim Gaines holding down a solid rhythm section, Michael Sweet and Oz Fox delivered the signature guitar riffs we have all come to know and love over the past 30 years. This deep into his career, Michael Sweet remains as one of the best voices in the business as he can still nail all the high-pitched, multi-octave notes as he belts out his lyrics.

Providing direct support for Stryper was the talented Gabbie Rae. She and her band fired the crowd up with some classic metal songs including Queensryche’s “Queen of the Reich” and Ronnie James Dio’s “Rainbow in The Dark” and “Last in Line”. Gabbie Rae is one of the premier young vocalists in rock n roll today and backs it up with her live performance.
