D91G58691One of metals slickest axe slingers, Mark Tremonti played his only Los Angeles show at The Roxy on the Sunset Strip Monday night October 12. The band is on a North American Tour in support of their latest release Cauterize. Tremonti fans were lined up at 5 pm on the strip for the doors of the Roxy opening at 7pm. The dedicated fan base was ready to see Tremonti in action and a few fans in line had even driven to Vegas to see the previous show . . . That’s Tremonti dedication!!

Best known for his work in Creed and Alter Bridge, Mark Tremonti is responsible for some of the most recognizable,  hard rock riffs of the past few decades. Mark is not only playing killer lead guitar on this album/tour, he has also taken on the lead vocals demonstrating his talents as a true front man. Tremonti’s guitars are insanely heavy sounding and the riffs are insanely tight, as he rips out his solos and lead guitar parts. Not only was the band tight, they were LOUD. This was a good LOUD and has to be one of the loudest shows to date performed on the Sunset Strip or at least at the Roxy.

Some of the high lights of this set were “Cauterize” and “Flying Monkeys”. This was a non-stop blistering display of musicianship for an hour and a half of killer material.

Tremonti’s current tour lineup is minus Wolfgang Van Halen, who played Bass on the latest album. Wolfgang has been absent as he was fulfilling his touring duties with Van Halen but there were Wolfgang sightings earlier in the day at The Roxy. There have been no announcements of him joining the Tremonti Tour now that the Van Halen tour has ended.

Not only is Mark Tremonti a great guitar player, but he is great guy too. He treats his fans like friends and family, recognizing and acknowledging the dedicated fans he sees at shows in the crowd and interacting with them. After each show, no matter how tired or pressed for time, the band comes out and talks with fans at the merchandise booth and signs memorabilia.

Tremonti continues touring in the USA until October 24 then heads to Europe through November and December. Catch Tremonti live if you can.
