Starting as a call-to-action on Twitter in response to the recent immigration ban, multi-platinum, GRAMMY award-winning artist/DJ/producer Zedd has organized WELCOME!, a fundraising concert benefitting the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). After Zedd reached out to fellow artists to come together, the first phase of the lineup has been announced, including Daya, Halsey, Imagine Dragons, Incubus, Macklemore, Skrillex, Tinashe and Zedd (with more artists to be announced). The concert will be held on Monday, April 3rd at Los Angeles’ STAPLES Center produced by Goldenvoice, with 100% of the profits from WELCOME! going to the ACLU.
“As an immigrant myself I feel the need to stand up against the tyranny that threatens our basic human rights,” explains Zedd. “I’m thrilled to come together with Daya, Halsey, Imagine Dragons, Incubus, Macklemore, Skrillex, Tinashe and many more (to be announced soon) to help raise money for the ACLU, an organization that works daily to defend and preserve the rights guaranteed to us by the constitution.”
Ticket info for WELCOME! is forthcoming, but in the meantime you can RSVP on Facebook here. Supporters are also encouraged to join the ACLU. The ACLU was founded in 1920 and is our nation’s guardian of liberty. The ACLU works in the courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to all people in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States.
